What's the difference between Own It and Managed Partnership?

Own It is a one-time engagement. We build it, document it, and hand it over. Your team runs it going forward, and future changes are scoped as new work. Managed Partnership is a monthly retainer where we handle ongoing operations, monitoring, optimization, and modifications within an agreed scope. Most clients choose Managed Partnership because operational load is the main reason automation and AI projects fail.

Can I switch from Own It to Managed Partnership later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many clients start with Own It, run it themselves for a few months, and then come back to us for Managed Partnership once they realize maintaining it is eating their time. We re-scope and onboard the existing build without charging you to rebuild anything.

Question 3

Who owns the deliverables?

Accepted Answer

You do. On both models. Own It clients receive full source, credentials, and documentation on final payment. Managed Partnership clients own all deliverables too; we retain operational access during the engagement so we can do our job. Your IP is your IP.

Question 4

What's included in the Managed Partnership retainer scope?

Accepted Answer

Monitoring and alerting on everything we run for you. On-demand modifications within your agreed scope. Continuous learning and optimization where relevant (agent retraining, pipeline tuning, SEO iteration, etc.). Quarterly strategy reviews. Access to our team for the kinds of questions your in-house team would otherwise spend an afternoon googling.

Question 5

How do you handle out-of-scope requests on a retainer?

Accepted Answer

We flag it as out-of-scope, give you a fixed quote for the extra work, and let you decide. Nothing gets done and billed back without your approval. If something is chronically out-of-scope, we revisit your tier at the next quarterly review instead of nickel-and-diming you.

What happens if I terminate the Managed Partnership?

You get a clean handover. Source, credentials, documentation, runbooks, recent logs, anything you need to run the system yourself. 30-day notice. No lock-in, no ransom. We'd rather lose you as a retainer client and keep you as a reference than hold your infrastructure hostage.

Question 7

Do you offer custom engagements that are neither Own It nor Managed Partnership?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for the right fit. Fractional CAIO and short advisory engagements live in a different frame. For bigger or more unusual scope (a phased modernization, a multi-year transformation, a regulated-industry build), we'll spec a hybrid engagement. Ask us.

How long does a typical engagement take?

Accepted Answer

Agent deployments from our templates: days. Custom agents, pipelines, and integrations: typically weeks. Full infrastructure builds and Sovereign AI Workstation delivery: typically 4 to 8 weeks. Digital Reconstruction and multi-department rollouts: can run months. We tell you the honest number during scoping, not the optimistic one.
